These workshops are perfect for artists who are curious about this versatile medium or have worked with it before and want a refresher. No experience is needed or required, and most materials and equipment for the workshop are provided. It’s a fun way to spend part of a day … creating encaustic art.
The Basics workshop is structured to give participants a brief introduction to the fundamentals of working with encaustic. It combines demonstration and independent work, giving you a chance to experiment with the materials and tools. You will be working on small to medium-sized panels (up to 8″ x 10″) so you can complete at least one piece.
The Open Studio workshop is structured to give participants an opportunity for independent work, with an instructor available for assistance, as well as a deeper exposure to one or two specific techniques in each session. Intended for artists who want to explore ways to incorporate encaustic into their artwork, workshop participants should have previously taken the “Basics” workshop. You will be working on small to medium-sized panels (up to 9″ x 12″) so you can complete at least one piece.
Other workshops also are offered for a more intensive experience.
Workshops are subject to cancellation because of insufficient enrollment or for other reasons. If a workshop is cancelled, you will have the option to receive a full refund or transfer your registration to another scheduled workshop.
